Church Vision/Purpose

We exist for the glory of God. We want to proclaim the truth of God’s word for his glory and the good of his people. We want to love the people of God and make new disciples. At Redeemer, we seek to avoid all worldly goals and standards of measurement. We want to measure blessing the way that the Bible measures it: by our faithfulness to God’s name and his word.

Theology

First order issues: We believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, the Triunity of God, the two natures of Christ, the substitionary atonement, and justification by faith. We are Christians.

Second order issues: We believe that only believers should be baptized into church membership, and we believe that baptism is immersion in water. When we take the Lord's supper, we are proclaiming that Jesus died for us, thus it should only be taken by believers in good standing with a local church. We are Baptists.

Third order issues: We believe that neither churches nor individual Christians should divide from one another over third order issues. Some great saint has said: "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, charity". We can discuss third order issues, and many of them are very important, but we don’t want third order issues to be treated like first or second order issues.

Worship Style

Probably the most distinctive thing about Redeemer is our worship style. We carefully plan our worship services so the congregation can sense the breadth and depth of the Lord Jesus Christ in all the fullness of His glory. We seek to prune everything from the actual worship service that does not focus the congregation on God, his Word, and the great truths of the faith.
